I haven’t made a solid body in awhile so I thought i would revisit and play around a bit. had this gorgeous piece of swamp ash to start then added a highly figured bird’s eye maple Neck and fingerboard as it was a nice compliment to the body. decided to go with the classic strat vibe so we have a Wilkinson nickel plated VSV6 Tremolo. To keep with the theme I used 2 loller eldorado pickups for the front and rear. they are versatile pickups that sound great when used either as a humbucker or as a split coil. as a humbucker, it has a pronounced midrange with good upper harmonic balance and clarity. when the coils are split you get a true single coil sound that is glassy and clear, that real classic strat tone. the middle pickup is a kent armstrong alnico 5. this guitar is a true classic and with the Crossrock fiberglass case it’s ready for the gig.
