i HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTRIGUED WITH THE OLD gIBSON bLACK tOP mANDOLINS SO FOR THIS SPEC GUITAR i DECIDED TO PAY HOMAGE. tHERE IS JUST SOMETHING SO CLASSIC ABOUT THIS SOLID BLACK FINISH WITH ITS CLEAN LOOK AND NO NONSENSE DEMEANOR. tHE BACK AND SIDES HAVE A COMPLIMENTARY DARK SUNBURST TO FINISH OFF THE LOOK. DESCENDING PEARL DOTS ADORN THE EBONY FINGERBOARD STARTING ON THE 5TH FRET AND THE TAILPIECE HAS A DELICATE VINE INLAY TO OFFSET THE SEVERITY OF THE BLACK FINISH. TONALLY THIS GUITAR IS A BEAST WITH A POWERFUL ACOUSTIC TONE AND A FULL, WELL BALANCED SOUND. tHE cARPATHIAN sPRUCE tOP ADDS A NICE PUNCH AND HAS KILLER SUSTAIN. A DEFINITE MUST FOR ANY GUITAR AFICIONADO AND A WELCOME ADDITION TO ANY MUSICIAN’S ARSENAL
