NEW MALAYSIAN BLACKWOOD SHORT SCALE CABARET
SOLD
I was lucky enough a couple of years ago to obtain enough of this Exotic Malaysian blackwood to make 3 guitars. THis is the last and final piece I have of this magnificent tonewood and I have not been able to find any more since. so my goal with this guitar was to really do this piece of wood justice. I love the tonal quality of this wood and decided to pair it with a western red cedar top to compliment and enhance the tone of the back and side wood. the result is quite remarkable and gives this guitar its own unique voice…really warm mids, solid bass and those perfect bell like trebles. The macassar Ebony Fingerboard really completes the look and my custom designed oval hole rosette adds a bit of a romantic but modern touch to the overall design. As good as it looks, it sounds even better. I love a good looking guitar as much as the next guy but lets face it…. that only goes so far. This guitar plays like a dream, its super comfortable and with the shorter 25” scale its a breeze to play. the shorter scale greatly reduces the string tension, makes the frets closer TOGETHER so complicated finger stretches are easier to manage, and makes it so i can get the action good and low without fret buzz or loss of volume. and speaking of volume, as with all my cabarets, it has a carved back which really adds volume and punch to the acoustic sound. I’ve used an ultra tonic pickup on this one because i love the naturalness of it and you really get to hear the acoustic sound of the box in the amplified sound. It’s a BEAUTIFULLY balanced INSTRUMENT tonally and AESTHETICALLY and honestly, what more can you ask for?
