In my early years of building Guitars, I built solid body electrics. The cool body styles, flashy electronics and funky finishes appealed to the Rocker in me and they were a good place to start my career as a Luthier. As the years went on and my skills evolved, I left the solid bodies behind and got into making Archtops and Jazz Nylon Strings and started catering more to the Jazz community. Although this guitar was originally designed with the Jazz player in mind it’s definitely versatile enough in design and tonal quality to cater to all styles of music. Jazz, country, rock or blues you name it this guitar can handle it. Having been a gigging musician for many years I know from personal experience that a well balanced and easy to play guitar is a lifesaver for those marathon gigs that require you to stand up and play for hours on end. Nothing beats the classic double cutaway body style for keeping that guitar balanced just where you want it without a struggle. My patented DeadBolt neck joint gives you the convenience of a bolt on neck but the comfort and playability of a Neck Thru Body, so you have the best of both worlds. This design increases the strength of the neck while adding killer sustain and allows me to curve the heel granting fuller access to the upper frets while making the neck easier and more comfortable to play. Add to this a lightweight Swamp Ash body and a contoured belly chamfer and you have a guitar that just begs to be played (and played and played). Looks and playability are just 2 of the things that make up the perfect electric guitar, the third and maybe most important is tonal quality and this guitar has that in spades. With a humbucker in the front and the rear and a single coil in the middle, all custom wound for me by Kent Armstrong, I was able to achieve that warm, fat jazz tone that most electric Solid bodies lack. But why stop there? With my special wiring format and a Push/Push knob I have expanded on the 5-way switch to give you even more sound combinations to choose from making it virtually impossible not to find the perfect tone for whatever style of music you are playing. Add to all this a usable Tremolo that stays in good tune and does not degrade the tonal quality of your sound and jumbo pyramid style stainless steel frets that will give you a lifetime of wear without needing to be dressed or replaced and you just can’t go wrong.
